Traveling to Hawaii & will be staying on Maui & lanai

I’ve only been to one luau on Maui so my recommendation is the Old Lahaina Luau in Lahaina. I threw a surprise b’day dinner for my wife and 31 guests from the mainland. Everyone had a great time!
BTW, be sure to get up at 3 a.m. one morning and make the drive to the top of Haleakula to greet the sunrise. Dress real warm and bring a thermos of something hot to drink.
Aloha!

Old Lahaina Luau is very good but Feast at Lele (produced by the same company) is way better.
Unless you are overly concerned with being a tight @$!#$#$ traditionalist.
Because Old Lahaina Luau is very Hawaii authentic, throughout the night all you see is traditional hawaii hula dance after hula dance…it gets to be pretty boring in my opinion.
Feast of Lele takes you through several polynesian culture including the very exciting fire dance (no fire dance in Old Lahaina Luau). So you get to experience numerous authentic polynesian dancing.
The food is also not even close. Feast of Lele food is catered by the famous restaurant Pacific O and the food is also served (As you watch dance specific to the region, you will be tasting food specific to that region also) and not cafetaria style.
In short, I have been to 12 Luau and Feast of Lele is a cut above the rest.
PS: Feast of Lele performance also interact with the ocean while others does not (I won’t say more – surprise)
