Putting The Added Touch On Your Window Decor

When it comes to decorating probably one of the most exciting areas to do is the window dressing. A couple of reasons for this is one  because you’re pretty well putting the finishing touches on your room that you may of been spending some time on and secondly this is going to tie your room together.

You also have many choices ahead of you in different varieties of window decor. You want to make sure that if your room is placid in colour that you use your drapes to bring out the vibrant colours that they consist of and let them become the focal point of the room.

On the other hand, if you have a fair amount of colour in the room you may want to go with something neutral for the window covering. This can be from casual to elegant.

There are so many different ways that you can use drapes and curtains. One unique and very sleek look is when you layer curtain upon curtain. This gives the full look to the window and is one that is quite stunning in a room that is on the formal side. Then mixing other materials creates interesting results as well for example using heavy velvet over sheer satin gives a contrast that is pleasing to the eye.

Café curtains are great for the kitchen but they can also be used in other rooms as well as window decor. Then if you like, the open area look of course you are going to want to go with various styles of valances. Some individuals do not care for drapery at all and would prefer to go with blinds. The blinds that are on the market today have such a vast selection to them from all different colours to even including patterns.

Some individuals prefer to go with the new coverings that can be put on a window so that you can see out but no one can see in these have become a little bit more popular.

Window art is becoming quite an exciting venture as well patterns are now being painted on the corners or the length of one side of a window using glass paints and stencils. Whatever you decide it should be according to your personal taste how much privacy, you want and what style your room is.

Ideally, if you want to give you room a new look you can do your window decor by seasons going with the heavier materials for the winter and the lighter sheers and silks for the summer.
